Myths About Window Tint Installation - Solved

Myth 1: You can’t effectively clean your windows after having them tinted

While it is certainly true that each individual window tint film package we install here at Dave’s Auto Detailing and Window Tinting has unique maintenance requirements; however, that does NOT mean they need to be left untouched. They can actually be cleaned very easily by a professional interior detailer, being the fact that they are applied to the INSIDE of the glass.

Myth 2: Window tinting is a purely cosmetic investment

While window tinting is definitely a great way to boost the overall aesthetic appearance of your vehicle’s exterior, especially if you have a luxury model or high-performance sports car, they also provide your interior and the passengers that ride with you in Price, Utah with a level of protection as well. Here at Dave's Auto Detailing and Window Tinting, we strictly adhere to the state of Utah’s window tinting rules and regulations when supplying window tint films to customers here in the Price area. This active effort is for the safety and benefit of our customers, as we remove the responsibility of you needing to research this yourself by breaking down the simplicity behind these laws set forth by the Utah Department of Transportation.


Let’s start with the smaller vehicles that driver’s here in Price, Utah own, such as compact cars, sedans, and daily drivers. The tint darkness for these smaller vehicles for the windshield and front windows must allow a minimum of 35% visible light transmission in. However, the back windows of compact cars and sedans may use any level of tint darkness that is desired by the customer. No matter the darkness, none of the window tints installed on your car can be reflective.


Focusing now on larger automobiles, such as vans, SUVs, and trucks, the tint darkness may be any level desired in the back driver and passenger side windows, along with the rear windshield. Similar to compact cars and sedans, the windshield and front side windows must allow for at least 35% of visible light transmission. Again, no reflectiveness is allowed for larger vehicles.
